Ana never had her own room. The oldest and the only girl in her family, she shared a bedroom with one of her younger brothers while her parents and two youngest brothers slept on a single mattress. "I would get kicked at night," she remembers, laughing. "We were really cramped in there, there was no space for us to even walk." Her story with the Healthy Room Project didn't start with a room, though. It started with ice cream.
